What is 3D Printing?
Additive manufacturing, commonly referred to as 3D Printing, is the process of creating three dimensional objects through the consecutive layering of a material. This process is done completely by machines which eliminates a need for manual labor, cutting the production time in half and eliminating the possibility of human error. In this way, 3D Printing can be used to create effective and durable products for both real production and prototyping. Current 3D printing machines are able to create products with materials such as carbon ﬁber, kevlar and ﬁberglass. Carbon ﬁber is a polymer that has extremely durable properties while also being simultaneously lightweight.
Kevlar is also light weight and durable but has the ability to also be ﬂexible. Fiberglass is used to reinforce other materials such as Onyx and Nylon. Each of these materials offers the strength and stability to create long lasting parts for any industry.
